Canon Pixma Printer Setup

Having trouble setting up your new Canon printer? You’ve arrived at the proper location. This article will walk you, step-by-step, through the process of configuring a Canon printer.

How to configure a Canon printer.

You just need 2 steps to set up your Canon printer.

  1. 1. Connect your PC and Canon printer.
  2. Set up your printer’s driver

Step 1 :- Connect your Canon printer to the PC.

Connecting a Canon printer to a computer is the first step in setting it up. There are three options for doing this:

  • USB connection
  • Wi-Fi connection
  • Wired network connection

Use a USB cord to connect your printer.

You could use the USB connection if you wish to directly connect the printer to your computer and only print from that machine.

Simply insert the USB cable’s other end into the USB port on your computer and the USB port on the Canon printer. Next, connect the printer’s power cable, and turn it on.

You can proceed to Step 2 to install the printer driver after connecting the printer to your computer.

 Connect your printer via Wi-Fi

You can quickly connect a wireless printer to a Wi-Fi network if it has that capability. This will enable your printer to accept print jobs from any devices connected to the same wireless network, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and desktop PCs.

1) Switch on the printer after plugging in the power supply.

2) Press the arrow key to choose Menu on the printer’s control panel, then choose Network Settings.

Depending on the model of your printer, there may be different procedures to establish the networking settings. You can consult the manual for more information.

3)Select Wireless LAN, and press OK.

4) Click the Wireless LAN settings option, then click OK. Next, choose your network and type your password.

Make that your computer and printer are both connected to the same wireless network.

Connect your printer via a wired network.

A wired connection uses an Ethernet cable and enables several devices on a connected network to access the printer. You can do the following to directly connect your printer to the router:

1)     Just plug the Ethernet cable’s one end into the printer and the other end into your router. Next, start the printer.

2) Press the arrow key to choose Menu on the printer’s control panel, then choose Network Settings.

Depending on the model of your printer, follow the instructions below to set up the networking settings. You can consult the manual for more information.

3) Select Wired LAN.

The next step is to install the printer driver on your computer after you have connected the Canon printer to a wired LAN.

Step 2 – Install the printer driver

You must install the appropriate and most recent printer driver in order for your Canon printer and computer to interact effectively.

You could install the printer by following the on-screen instructions if your computer identifies it automatically. If not, you’ll have to manually download and install the printer driver.

You might start the setup procedure by just inserting the installation CD that is included with the Canon printer. However, if you’ve misplaced or don’t have the disc, try the following method to get the printer driver:

1) Go to the Canon support page.

2) Type in the model of your product and choose it from the list of results.

1)     Go to the Drivers & Downloads area by scrolling down. To download a driver, select the driver and then select your operating system from the drop-down menu.

4) Click Download.

5) Once the downloaded file has been opened, select Yes to proceed.

While multiple printer drivers’ setup wizards may resemble one another, they are not identical.

6) Select Next in the setup wizard.

7) Click Yes.

8) Choose the USB connection if you’re using a USB cable to connect your printer. Choose the Network Connection if you connect through Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Next, select Next.

You can print with the freshly installed Canon printer after following the wizard’s instructions to the letter.
