How to setup Wireless HP Printer to Your Chromebook

To complete the setup, connect the printer to your Chromebook via a WiFi or USB cord. Your printer can be set up without any drivers or applications.

Install the most recent Chrome OS version on the Chromebook.

Ensure that plain paper is inserted into the main tray, the printer is powered on, and the ink cartridges are in place.

Attach the printer to the Chromebook with a USB cable or, for wireless printing, set it close by and within range of the Wi-Fi router. Then, carry out the steps below to link the printer to the local Wi-Fi network.

o Printers with touchscreen control panels: To connect the printer to your network, go to the printer’s Setup, Network, or Wireless menu, choose Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

NOTE: Visit Find Your Wireless Password if you need to know your network name (SSID) and password.

o Printers devoid of a touchscreen display: For five seconds, press and hold the Wireless button. For Tango printers, hold down the Power and Wireless buttons on the printer’s back for five seconds each. Press and hold the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on the router for two minutes until the connection process starts. When the connection is established, the wireless light or blue bar on the printer stops flashing.

Click the Settings icon on the HP Printer Chromebook after clicking the clock in the bottom right corner.

Click Advanced at the bottom of the screen.

After selecting Printers from the Printers section, click Add Printer.

o Click your printer if it appears, and then click Add.

o Click Add Manually and then follow the directions to add the printer if your printer does not appear. For further information, visit Chromebook Help – Set up your printer (in English)
