How to Fix Printer Scanner Issue

Check that cords are securely attached to the scanner’s back.

There are two available connections on the scanner’s rear if it has a parallel port. Check to see if the computer’s cable is connected to the IN, Computer IN, or a similar connection.

Make sure the scanner is receiving electricity.

We advise you to check all of the scanner’s electrical connections if it’s not receiving power. Verify that they are connected properly at the wall outlet, the scanner, and the back of the computer. Connect the scanner directly to the wall outlet if the power cable is plugged into a power strip or surge protector to make sure it isn’t the source of the issue.

When the computer scanner first receives power, you should see the interior light turn on to confirm that it is receiving electricity.

We advise you to get in touch with the scanner’s manufacturer if, after inspecting the connections, you still cannot power the scanner.

Troubleshooting a parallel port scanner

Turn off the computer and temporarily disconnect any devices connected to or from the scanner if another device is detected between it and the computer. The scanner may have problems or be unable to operate with other parallel devices if it continues to function after unplugging these devices.

PC Windows users check to see whether any TSRs are currently active.

To stop all operating programmes except for Explorer and Systray, use Ctrl+Alt+Del; after doing so, conduct another scan. If this fixes your problem, background programmes (such an antivirus programme) are what are keeping your scanner from functioning properly.

Look up the LPT port mode.

Ensure that the LPT port mode is configured in the computer BIOS to either EPP or bi-directional mode, or try switching between these two modes, for PC users.

Refresh the drivers
