 How to Fix Paper Jam Issue

On the product control panel, the message “Carriage Jam” or “Carriage Blocked” is shown. The product’s left side is bumped by the carriage assembly, which houses the ink cartridges. There may have been a previous paper blockage.

The following signs might also show up:

  • Nothing will print.
  • Unexpectedly, the printing stops.
  • Solution

    Till the error notice is fixed, perform these actions. The steps may not all need to be followed in order to fix the problem.

    Step 1:Switch the All-in-One back on and off.

    1. To turn the product off, press and hold the On button ().
    2. To turn the item on once more, press the On button ().

    Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

    Step 2:Remove any paper jams.

    To get rid of a paper jam, follow these steps.

  • Unplug the power cord and turn off the printer.
  • To access the back of the printer, turn it around.
  • Access the back door by opening it.
  • Find the tab on the left side of the door and push it to the right. The door will move a little to the right.
  • Pull the door out just enough to release it as it moves to the right.
  • Using a gentle motion, slide the door out and to the left when it has been released.
  • Pull the paper that is stuck in the rollers carefully out of the rear access port.
    1. Replace the rear access door:
    2. In the holes on the right side of the entrance, place the two posts to the right of the door.
    3. Push the tab on the door’s left side in the direction of the right. The door will move just a little bit to the right.
    4. Push in the left side of the door as it moves to the right to lock it in place.
    5. Turn on the product after reattaching the power cord.

    Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

    Step 3: Verify that the print carriage can move easily.

    Make sure the print carriage can move freely by following these directions.

    1. Open the print cartridge access door when the device is powered on. It’s possible that the print carriage will try to enter the access area. If that’s the case, let it relocate there.
    2. Remove the power cord from the rear of the product without turning it off. Remove the power cord from the outlet. To reset the paper feed mechanism and manipulate the pieces by hand without risking an electrical shock, the power cord must be disconnected.
    3. Make that the print cartridges are secured into the carriage and have not fallen free by looking inside through either the output paper tray or the print cartridge access door. Ensure that the carriage cannot be prevented from moving by anything underneath it or surrounding it.
    4. Push the print carriage slightly to the left and then to the right to make sure it can travel freely across the width of the product. Remove any obstacles you find.

    To access the print carriage, you might need to reach through the output paper tray.

    1. Plug the power cord back into the rear of the device after closing the print cartridge access door. Connect the power cord to the source of power.
    2. To switch on the printer, press the On button.

    Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

    Step 4: Take out the ink cartridges.

    A carriage stall error issue can be brought on by improper installation or positioning of the print cartridges. The print cartridges may be removed by following these directions.

    1. Be sure to turn on the printer.
    2. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent before opening the access door for the print cartridge.

    1. To release each print cartridge, softly press down on its end.
    2. On the left, there is a tri-color print cartridge.
    3. On the right is the black or picture print cartridge.

  • Place the two cartridges on a fresh piece of paper after sliding them out.

  1. Remove the power cable.
  2. Your hand should move the carriage all the way to the left.
  3. Close the access door for the print cartridge.
  4. Reattach the power cable.
  5. Turn on the printer if necessary.

The positioning of the print cartridges was the issue, if the error message can be fixed. Reinstall the print cartridges to complete Step 5. After Step 5, there are no other steps that must be taken.

Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

Step 5: Install the print cartridges once more.

Reinstall the print cartridges by following these directions.

  1. Install the appropriate print cartridges after making sure the device is turned on:
  2. Hold the print cartridge so that the connections are facing the printer and the nozzles are downward.
  3. Put the cartridge in the appropriate slot.
  • Tri-color cartridges are identified by a triangle and are placed in the left carriage slot.
  • Black ink cartridges fit into the right carriage slot and are identified by a square or pentagon.

  1. Until it clicks into place, firmly press the cartridge into the slot.

  1. Close the access door for the print cartridge.
  2. The print cartridges should be aligned.
  3. To begin print cartridge alignment, respond to each prompt on the control panel by pressing OK.
  1. After printing, alignment is finished.
  2. To check if this step fixed the problem, try the print job once more.

Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

Step 6: Ensure that the control-panel faceplate is placed properly.

Do not attempt to reinstall the front panel faceplate (overlay) if it has previously been placed and your product has been operational for some time. Step 7 is to ensure the faceplate is fully placed by applying strong pressure to it. Directly connect the device to a wall outlet.

Make sure the front panel faceplate is placed properly by following these instructions if the product has never been set up before.

  1. Place the faceplate of the control panel above the item.

  1. To fix the faceplate, firmly press down on each edge.

  1. To check if this step fixed the problem, try the print job once more.

Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

Step 7: Directly plug the All-in-One into a wall socket.

Make sure the product is correctly connected to a reliable power supply by following these steps.

  1. Verify the product and the PC both have three-prong power plugs.
  2. Remove the product’s power cable from the back.
  3. Plug the product wire directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall socket after unplugging it from any power strips or surge protectors.
  4. Connect the power cord to the product’s back.
  5. To check if this step fixed the problem, try the print job once more.

You do not have to follow the remaining steps on this page if the error message is fixed.

Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

Step 8: Reset just partially

To do a partial reset of the product, follow these directions.

  1. By pushing the On () button,turn off the device.
  2. Remove the product’s power cord from the back.
  3. Reconnect the device’s power cable.
  4. Press the On () button to turn the device on.

Follow the following step if the error message cannot be fixed.

Step 9: Print a self-test page

You may print a self-test page by following these directions.

  1. Fill the paper tray with unused letter, A4, or legal size plain white paper.
  2. Hit the Setup () button until the Print Report window displays, and then press the OK button. The display on the control panel shows the results of the self-test.
  3. Click the “OK” button.

An auto-test report is printed by the product.
